Water and nature are as important in their roles as bricks and mortar in the living experience at Lake Sandia, an 8-year-old community north of Pulaski under development by Ripley Realty Development & Construction, Inc.

Robert Ripley and his wife Eileen apply feng shui, which means "wind and water," to every new home construction project in the community. This art of living in harmony with the environment for health, wealth and happiness is their vision for the Lake Sandia residents.

Good feng shui focuses on creating and maintaining balance between the various elements of the environment, and the Ripleys have ample opportunity to put this philosophy to work in the meandering waterways of the Lake Sandia community. The creative use of water, found both in the manmade lake system that winds through the community and the fountains that highlight seven cul de sacs, is a unique feature of Lake Sandia. The waterfront home sites reflect this harmonic balance according to these principles.

Before a home is constructed, the Ripleys give careful attention to the home blueprint as it relates to the particular lot, ensuring that the home is positioned to make the most of the picturesque views of the waterways. Trees, sandy beaches, granite cobblestone water sheds and open green spaces complement the aesthetic feel of the area. A massive, limestone waterfall graces the far south western cul de sac at Lake Sandia, as water trickles over flat rock on its way to the nearest lagoon.

Fountains are a popular feature at Lake Sandia, and the ongoing project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2003. The Ripleys find joy in designing and building these works of art when they're not busy with home construction. Three fountains will be completed as soon as the granite statuary arrives from China, where they are being hand-carved according to the Ripleys' designs.

The lake system at Lake Sandia is navigable by canoe throughout the community, thanks to 5-foot diameter culverts that pass under the roadways. They reach a depth of about 11 feet, and are stocked with walley, bass and perch. Several wells maintain the lake level, clarity and water quality.

The lots are shaped with fill taken from construction of the lakes, and allow for a variety of home plans. The Ripleys give special consideration to their customers' desires for sunset or sunrise views, or walkout or daylight basements, when choosing a lot.

From planning the home to installing tiled roofs and ceramic floors, Robert Ripley is intimately involved in each of the home projects at Lake Sandia. Eileen specializes in the interior of their home projects, where she assists clients with design elements such as lighting and flooring options, and contributes her skills on staining and varnishing trim, and grouting tiled areas.

The opportunity to join this magical community 20 minutes northwest of Green Bay will not last forever. Lot selection will never be better than today, and the lots are value prices for the quality of life your family deserves. Come visit Lake Sandia, and experience its special charm. Lake Sandia is located five miles north of Pulaski on Highway 32.
